Six-egg Packaging

On this project the objective was to create a package for six eggs.
We should have concerns such as economy of materials, ease of use, gluing points, visibility of the product and safety of the eggs.
I opted to make a box with a tray to keep the eggs from moving, and a handle for easy carrying.
I also thought about assembly and transportation. As the boxes are made and then sent to the client to fill them with the product, I made a box that’s composed of a single sheet of cardboard and has an automatic bottom as well as an integrated tray. This makes it faster to assemble the box and also for prior transportation, to get filled.
The emphasis of this project resided in the box itself, not so much on the graphic aspect, because of time constraints. However, the graphic design was inspired by the 1960’s Sainsbury’s self brand designs.
